Lough Neagh Fishermen’s Co-operative Society hosted a unique event in conjunction with Seamus Heaney HomePlace. Maria McCann-Russell, Marketing Officer at Seamus Heaney HomePlace said
“Homeplace was delighted to continue on the series of events inspired by WB Yeats and Seamus Heaney with the ‘About the place’ poetry brunch.
The location of the event at Toome Eel Fishery allowed the audience to become immersed in the poetry readings while also taking in the beautiful Lough Neagh landscape.
It was a fantastic day from start to finish – listening to the poetry, music and of course tasting Lough Neagh Eels, Dollaghan and Lough Neagh Pollan.”
Dot’s Kart BBQ helped ensure that all the visitors to the event’s surprise location, got to try the fantastic range of fish on offer. One visitor indicating that the event was the highlight of the summer!
